Use a few fast checks to work out whether a number is wrong because of balances, filters, holdings, or date scope.

Start with scope

If a report or analysis view looks wrong, check the date range, spender filter, account filter, categories, tags, and one-off setting first. Reports and analysis pages persist scope through URL parameters and shared scope.

Then check the source of truth

If net worth looks wrong, confirm the underlying balances, account type, or holding prices before focusing on the chart itself.

Separate report problems from data problems
