Import and export overview

Learn how the data-management workspace is organised across CSV, provider migration, bank connection, and export flows.

CSV tab

Use CSV Import when your source exports rows and columns. This is usually the most flexible import path.

The upload panel groups source and attribution controls before the file picker. Choose Generic CSV for bank exports, or choose a PocketSmith or YNAB export file when you want Dolla to keep the source category structure for review before saving.

CSV imports are available on Standard and Premium. PDF statement upload is currently unavailable; use CSV import instead.

Export tab

Open Export Data when you want transactions or net worth history outside the app. Choose the dataset and scope before downloading. For transactions, the same tab also handles the correction CSV round-trip: download the app-generated correction file, edit it in a spreadsheet, then upload it back to preview in-place fixes before you apply them.

If you scope a transaction export by category, selecting a parent category includes its child categories in the downloaded file. Select all the categories you need, then choose Apply once.

Exported files leave Dolla's protected app environment after download or share. Keep them somewhere secure and avoid forwarding them to people or services you do not trust.

Privacy export remains available as an account control. Advanced report exports are available on Standard and Premium.

Bank connection

The bank-linking flow lives inside the same workspace because it solves the same job as a manual import: getting fresh transaction data into Dolla. Live bank feeds require Premium. If you later need to disconnect linked bank data without deleting your Dolla account, use Settings > Accounts.
