Connect bank feeds with Basiq
Use the open-banking flow when you want ongoing transaction sync instead of repeated file uploads.
Why use a bank connection
Open banking is useful when you want fresher data without exporting files manually each time.
If you do not see a Connect Bank entry point in the main app, that is currently expected. The product keeps the visible bank-connection surfaces paused so the file import workflow stays front-and-centre.
Where to start
The connection flow starts from the data-management workspace when bank linking is available. After the handoff, the callback route completes the return into the app.
If the hosted connection setup or the callback sync step fails, Dolla keeps you in a retryable state instead of silently dropping back to the workspace. Retry the connection setup when token initialization fails, or retry sync when the callback returned a real Basiq job ID but the first sync request failed.
Your first synced view
The first successful bank sync for your profile opens a one-time Your first look reveal. While the sync runs, Dolla shows its progress and saves the result so you can return later. Depending on the history received, the reveal shows transaction-backed findings, observed spending, or an account and cash-flow snapshot.
The first look may also offer up to three category suggestions for repeated provider-marked spending that has not been categorised. Adding one creates the category, moves the matching transactions, and saves a disclosed Smart Rule that remains editable and removable.
When findings are available, use the Insights link to review supporting transactions. Select Take me to my dashboard to continue instead. Either destination acknowledges the first look so it does not appear after future syncs. If processing stalls, return to Data Management and retry the connection or sync.
Important production detail
The Basiq redirect URL is configured in the Basiq dashboard, not by passing a different return URL from the frontend. If the connection flow fails after sign-in, that is a common place to check.
Disconnecting linked bank data
Use Settings > Accounts when you want to disconnect linked bank data without deleting your Dolla account. Disconnecting removes the provider link and stops future bank sync for that connection, while existing Dolla accounts and imported transactions stay in your workspace unless you edit or delete them separately.
Consent expiry or withdrawal also stops future bank collection. Imported household history remains available. If the provider is unavailable, collection stops locally and provider disconnection retries automatically. Reconnecting requires hosted consent.
